After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him.
Luke 5:17
“Follow Me.” These precious words were initially spoken to first century Jews.
As Jesus walked the dusty roads of Israel He used those two words as an invitation for those who would become His followers. Today, He extends that invitation to you and to me. Jesus says to us, “Follow Me.” This call to follow Jesus is no longer a geographical invite, but a whole-life invitation. An invitation to be transformed, to live according to His teachings, and His example; to leave our worldly passions behind in the consistent pursuit of being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing what He did.
This year at Pursuit we want to come together as a church from all locations to experience what it means to be with Jesus. Through intentional extended experiences we will learn how to take our next steps in following Him.
